Confessions… In RESIDENCY!
Residency friends! Confessions is an ongoing project I’ve been shooting for the last few years. I’d love to make portraits of as many of y’all as possible while we’re here together. I’ll of course give you the final photos once they’re done.
Project background: We are overdue for a catharsis. Humans are drowning in loneliness. We’re (literally) dying for connection. This project offers and enables a momentary practice of coming-together in a liminal moment. Do you have something you want to get off your chest, to share, to confess? Please allow me to witness a moment in your life and make a portrait of you while we are together. The logistic are simple: we do a ~15min portrait shoot together during which you allow me to witness and record your confession and you sign a release. Confessions can be anything! Big, small, serious, hilarious, whatever… they don’t have to be a big deal, the idea is just the experience and practice of connection.
This is a conceptual art project in which the portraits I photograph will eventually be displayed publicly. The images may or may not be accompanied by their confessions in my ongoing body of work. You will be given the final retouched image(s) for your personal enjoyment.
